You think you can sell your sim for over 10K US$?

I was browsing thru SL related business websites. There are many businesses that open inside SL as Solution Provider or Community Gateways.
Either of them, in short, advertise themselves as such and basically solicit business. Community gateways also provide individual new residents a broad choices of where to start, in addition to LL welcome/help island.
Anyways, I was looking at one of those websites and one of them tells us that their business offers services for "Appraisal" of their sim's worth.
And the example shows us that it will be up to 10,000$

How ever you look at it, I just can't think of any *sim* that worth that amount in SL right now. I am not talking about selling a turn-key established business. I'm talking about *private Estate*.
If anyone who has been in SL, that sort of amount is like joke that no one believes, nor taken seriously. If anyone wants to get in SL as business, and believing they can sell their sims after they *developed* a sim for that price... they are dumbasses that who can't even sell lemonade in front of their houses.

It's not like real life land development, which can add almost any amount of value by landscaping, building a house, whatever... SL sim has nothing to do with *developing a sim*. Any owner who buys sim WILL develop in their own specification, therefore what you hav e *developed* has little or no meaning to the new owners.
(Very few exception in the past. )
Why do they have to mislead potential new client?
They may think that buying a sim for 1500$ would be a bargain, while the market probably let you buy any sim for around 350-600$.
If the purchaser is lead to believe that they can sell them for 10K US$ in time, that would be a gross neglect or intentional dishonest practice on the advertiser's part.

I just noticed about people in Forum...
1.They try to get my attention.
2.They try to get my approval.
3.They want me to know *their* truth (lol).
4.They want to convince me that they are smart.
5.They try to troll me so they can type my name "Frederic". It looks better than trolling "Beagle"
6.They try to obtain *my validation* by trying to convince me that their rhetoric has some logic. (LOL)
7.They try to piss me off by saying *Boring* */me yawn*... because they can't come up with anything smarter to say.
8.They try to convince themselves by making me *boring* ... is somehow change the reality that they are still not funny/interesting/smart/whatever... (LOL

The reality is cruel, and at the same time beautiful
I just came back from watching special engagement by MET opera HD, presents "The Audition"-Film by Susan Froemke.
This is a documentary about aspiring opera singers, who are semi finalist of 2007 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. Especially focused on several of them from semi final to the final on.
There were winners, one of the singer who are on his life's turning point, with financial difficulty, suffering bankruptcy and what not, just coming back from three years of absence from singing. As being 30year old singer, this was the last, make or break opportunity for him, Ryan Smith pursuing his dream.
The bitter sweet real life drama.
He won by triumphant performance. More than that, right after that phenomenal singing, he tells the camera that he did what he came here for. And his exhilarating expression tells all of us that he, himself was not expect anything from it. It didn't matter the outcome but it was personal triumphant that mattered to him.
He won.
He got to perform on MET with veteran star such as Thomas Hampson, but all of the audience were informed on the credit scroll that he passed away from cancer last Nov 2008.
Was that the tragedy?
Not really.
He pursued and achieved something that many would ever be. He reached where many only dreamed to be. In that note, I think it was a story of triumph. Not about the life cut short by cancer.
The artist is always remembered by his art. Not how he died.

Unfortunately, this is not a biased view of one person, but a general view of actuality.
So why so many irrelevant thread? Because if you put something relevant in Forum thread, it will be taken over by response such as

Today, we had that another irrelevant thread what I call a *Clique thread* appeared... on... ta da! Beagles and maia. Maia is an absolute crazy chick but she at least never been disrespectful, nor never be oblivious to the time, occasion, place of what she can or cannot post. In short, she knows appropriate place to be funny.
As i said in yesterday's blog. Beagles... on the other hand... He just dont know what he is doing. I never really paid attention, because he makes mostly irrelevant comment, but on one thread, he instantly start posting HUGE, unrelated picture from some joke site... in effect, the original post totally highjacked, nothing interesting came after, since no one knows what to respond to *I can't fucking careless about OP but JUST LOOK AT ME!"
I ignored more than few times, but yesterday, he complained that no one had came to confront him on the forum... LMAO
Guess what?
He got his wishes.
He also complained in public that he received inbox full of mail that expressed displeasure in his "light hearted posting practice" LOL

So I post non-sense in Xstreet forum.
And I posted my total displeasure of one of the poster in one of the thread.
Nothing new. I am not that annoyed with the person himself.

So I talked to the creator of the cartoon. I guess he meant to annoy me, but his creativity failed his attempt. How can one not to recognize such humor.
i liked the card so much, I paid him 500L for full perm card. Now I can use it for my calling card in world.
During the conversation, I almost killed myself from laughter.
It is almost embarrassing my subtle attempt for my sarcastic/tongue in cheek character were seen thru so easily by total stranger. He was observant enough to use my vanity.
I was saved by the truth(or he let me believe it as truth), that the noob with heart was not his creation but was real event which took place when he was taking a pictures...
Maybe it is time to buy this skin...

One of very few entry about my RL...
If you are reading my blog, you already know, or at least you can make an intelligent guess that I like classical music to a certain depth.
The most of my boring real life consists of practicing piano or listening to those music through out the day. Therefore, naturally, the most of the very few outings are also classical music concerts/related events and operas.
This weekend, I was invited by a symphony musician to the concert of Mendelssohn. (The famous E minor Violin concerto and Italian Symphony) I would have posted music player from Jiwa.com, but they just restricted access from US because of the license issues... so if you want the sample music, please do your own research, maybe Amazon can provide you with plenty of samples.
I am looking forward to the Violin concerto, since I count this violin concerto as one of the three best Romantic Era violin concerto of all time, along with Beethoven's D major, and Bruch's No.1. (well, there are not that many... lol And I really don't count Paganini's violin concertos as *Romantic works* despite the era he was in. )
In his very short but eventful accomplished life, Mendelssohn established firm base layer of German classical music in general. His contribution is not limited to his productive composing career, but also in music education, establishing new theater/orchestral productions. If he did not revival Bach when he was 19 by the first performance of "St. Matthew's Passion" after the Bach's death, we might not aware of the greatness of Bach to this day. By the early 19th century, Bach was entirely forgotten and buried, unknown to the public. I believe that we owe it to him for reminding us about the one of the greatest legacy and an essence of humanity -music of Bach- left by the genius. Amazingly, he had done all these from late in his teens to early 20s.
Anyways, these concerts are for my enjoyment as well as for the part of *the grooming process* of my two boys.
It is not just about the education, because I really hate to make this as an *education*. Music is supposed to be an enjoyment, and if theya re able to enjoy these performance, their life would be richer for it.
I just do not understand the notion in US, that classical music is somewhat snobby, and attract snarky comments such as "Oh, I am not THAT cultural nor educated..."
LOL It is apparent that many are missing the whole point.
I doubt that my boys would be a president of the United States, but they won't be intimidated by the protocols of meeting the Queen of England. lol Not that I teach the protocols of official business, but they are all derived from the tradition of court protocols and manners. Just because we don't have Royals, courts and aristocratic ranks, doesn't mean you don't have to know the manners and protocols, where it came from.
For instance, attending evening performance or Saturday matinee... what would we wear? My boys are taught about dress code prescribed by traditional protocols. I tell them not to be *ignorant rule-breaker*. In order for you to know when, where and how to break the rules, you really have to know and well versed in every situations.
That cannot be learned an hour before the events. They are all my responsibility as a parent to *groom them* to be the smart cosmopolitans in the future.
That is not even about sending them to an ettiquette classes or giving them protocol books.
I have seen many adults simply intimidated by the formal place setting at the table, preventing them from enjoying the meal, or their ignorance utterly apprent, preventing others to enjoy the otherwise exquisitely prepared meal. How sad is that?
(and some - there always be one- that bragging the knowledge of ettiquette and preaching everyone at the table. LMAO Fake ass. The real people with class who are smartly educated would not make others feel inadequate at the table. )
Since I didn't graduate from college nor accomlished in anything, so I can't really say that I am educated. However, I have to say I am fortunate that I was groomed well by my parents.

We won't be wearing tuxedoes to the performance. But my boys would know what they should know if that occasion was specified, and how to break the rules when the occasion were called for.
Following every rule to a T, is one thing. Being able to break the rule is quite another. It takes more than knowing the rule.
Don't be an ignorant, if you want to break the rule.
