REALITY CHECK!

I have been saying in here, in SL, constantly, that one should NOT try to substitute their RL with SL.

You just can't have a fabulous relationship that last long and forever with pixel avatar. If you are lacking something in RL, you just can't magically make up everything else in SL. Well, except for very few things such as shapely ass or mansion on the beach.

Again and again, astounding numbers of adults just can't keep themselves from having UNREALISTIC expectation of perfect relationship in SL, and believing that it can also be perfect and lasting relationship in RL.


PEOPLE, I know its a Christmas time, but, THERE ARE NO SANTA! lol

Your seemingly sweet, perfectly handsome dude with bad attitude cannot be some perfect, intelligent, responsible cute boytoy in RL. (Believe me. I know what's a cute boy toy can do. They have its use, but not for relationship, let alone *life together*? FORGET IT. lol)

I sometime spend my money on cute little things. They amuse me. They think they can charm me. The fact that they believe they can charm me amuse me a lot. Its an innocent game. They know what they can expect from me, and I do not have stupid illusions about them, either.

Many people says that SL is not a game. But I beg to defer, and time and again, I proved i'm right.

You just CANNOT mix SL and expect them to become that dream come true. You just do not wake up in the next morning, having this shapely ass you have in SL . LOL
But then, you plan all kinds of shit for RL, the dude you are screwing in SL, is now screwing your Whole RL... if you have one.

Ok, that happens a lot. They deserve it right. Right.

The thing is... Aftermath of this perpetual drama of *SL, mistaken it with RL, then got screwed in RL* spilled over back in SL.

I'm suffering from unlikely wet weather of California. So is my Steinway. 94% humidity is like Japanese weather. Humidity in the air makes the sound so sweet and resonates better, but the piano itself is so used to relative dry environment, of low 20's at the most... now the wood is absorbing the humid air rapidly and expanding, resulting in squeaky keys and funky tuning. IT does not help that my piano tech is already scheduled to come in on 17th. because in two days, I doubt that the humidity in our home will settled back to the normal winter average. arrrrgh.

We can use some humor. Me, in stripper outfit. Too bad, I cannot demonstrate the *ripoff feature* of this fur.

Outfit and hair cost me nearly 4$, with spending hours trying to capture the right moment of these dance moves... (*laughs... more like enjoying watching myself grind and thrust.) The result is this.

I used restraints not to make this a prim book with 12 pages of my nearly naked pictures. I commend myself of settling with only two shot. (PSD. files have nearly ten layers... lol) drool and admire as much as you like.

Now, why i pissed?

Those psychos, alcohol/drug addicts, liars, thieves, untruthful backstabbers who uses so called *friends* to get ahead, to whiners, immature adults who acts like 14 year old girls, stalkers who hid behind their alts to harass others etc etc ---They take away my friends from me.

See? all my friends are mature adults with common sense. So they know how to use the X button on top their browser. It means that they just walk away from SL at any time.
I respect them enough not to stand in their way, however, I also value them enough to spend my time, helping them solve their problem if they trust me enough.



Personally those dramas really don't affect my real life/feeling, just because I am too forgiving and generous for my own good. I may criticize them in sharp tongue or shoving the brutal truth in their face, but that is just about it. I do not harbor any feeling towards them. (call it a wisdom. )

I have this curse of seeing the person's character pretty much the first time I speak to them, so if I sense something fake about the character, I do not let them inside until I establish the trust on them. And yes, it may take a year. I constantly evaluate their characters.
Sure enough, sooner or later, I will see their true colors, validating my gut instinct of *something is off about this character*. Sometimes the incident does not involve me directly, but all the same, serious enough to sever them. As many of the SL says "If you fuck with my family ~" I do not threaten people, I do not kill them nor grief them, i just cut them off.

To this day, I only met two people in RL from SL, and they are my real best friends as well. Few more, that I feel I can make exception of getting to know them in rl. Only the handful are allowed to contact me in the means other than SL IM.
I do not invite any of my rl friends to join SL, except they joined on their own. (In that case, by all means I freind them of course, but I do not claim responsibility)

The objective is to keep my freetime as enjoyable as possible.

Isn't that the purpose of second life?

So I'm pissed that all those stupid people give my friend some emotional stress that is so great that she is ready to walk away without talking to me, out of respect she has for me. She was just ready to press the X button.
I told her to block everyone except the ones she can trust, cut the cards of the rest, mute them if they make a scene. Why should she concern about the feeling of those people who are so selfish? She shouldn't.

La damnation d Faust

Just came back from Live broadcasting Live in HD MET.

Rarely performed opera by Berlioz. *La damnation de Faust*, of this production, combined with multimedia and interactive technology which was not available 150 years ago. But I have to say, knowing the composer's character, he would be pleased with this production. (I would think if they were alive today, Liszt and Berlioz would be in Met together, immensely enjoying the performance themselves. )

I only knew couple of pieces from this opera (yes, because recordings are also rare) which one of them, are from Erwin Schrott's CD, and the other is the famous "Hungarian march (also known as Rákóczy march) that I had a chance to see the manuscript copy of the piece in Budapst Liszt Museum.
I was very lucky to see this exhibit, on the bicentenial celabration of Berlioz's birthday back in 2004. There were always the question of who composed this first between liszt's Hungaria rhapsody and Berlioz's Hungarian march... but I have to say, teenage Liszt was already fiddling with this melody long before this opera by Berlioz.

I know, no one would be interesting in anecdotes between Berlioz and Liszt, so I just leave it at the fact that they were close friends for decades.

As everyone already know, the subject of Faust/Mephistopheles, which i cannot ignore, paid particular attention to the role of Mephisto... John Relyea was... deliciously, devilishly handsome. He has also added the subtle but unmistakable comic values to the *evil* plotline, so I really loved his role. (his towering physical presence, also helped a lot. Check out the link on his name. ... he is hot.Another hot baritone found from MET.)

Marcello Giordani's Faust.. well, he is a typical twinkling *bel canto* tenor who could hit highest notes I have ever heard on tenor aria. (yea)
I'm not sure about French opera with twinkling italian tenor. I guess its okay, since those are the tenors they had back in 19th century. Just not my thing.

Daini Ken sim ~ The church

Some strange reason, Daini Ken sim is enjoying random traffic, lately. I guess that is how the sim become popular with regular visitors.

I plan not to bounce anyone, unless they cause trouble for my friends. (If they walk right into me and try something funny, i will just do something funnier and it will be end up in here. so I'm kinda waiting for them.)

The community central figure is the church. Of course, that is not kind of church you see in real life.
As I always said, what is the point in perpetuating the real life, including trying to make a similar avatar like your real life (but skinnier), or building house that can be bought. What's fun in that. I lived on the beach once or twice in my life, I lived in the busiest city in the world once, I lived in suburbs, too. None of that would be anything different than I have done before.

The church, as you step inside... you will see the red velvet drapes, lace sheers and purple curtains. The exotic carpet were strewn around, furniture and devices that are too interesting to explain here. Among those seemingly religious paintings, there are few sensual pictures, too.

That is not all.
The church has secret dungeons in the basement. Of course, the basement used to be a crypt for the bishops, cardinals and place to put holy relics. Not anymore.

That is how much I paid for my full sim, 375$. Just a few days ago. LOL

Probably Jack Linden looked at my transaction, (because linden tried to ask us twice if the price was correct, delayed it for a day or two.) and say "Hey, 375$ sounds good! Yay!"

Well, it was not open space. It IS full sim.

Since we have about 2months till the change, no one will be able to sell these sims for whatever they paid... Only ways to just abandon right away. (since you dont want to pay another two months tier, I would suppose.)

As i stated and ranted before, if you want to keep the value of the money and security, do not pay into playing game, (ie; Second Life) save, or invest.
That statement is still true to this day.

Do not expect LL to be your moneymaker.
That is just dumb.

I do not expect to make any profit. These are managed within my disposable income.
If LL FXXX up the whole scheme ? I just abandon the land and walk out. LOL next month, I can keep my 295$, and go buy a new wardrobe, buy new game for my young charges, or eat out with my family and friends. Simple.

But I can understand the anger of my friend Noirran, who is just simply robbed by LL. She did nothing wrong. She followed prescribed used of Openspace sim. :/

Many of you probably remember my rants and the propaganda of saving money before. That was in connection to why some people invest(or rather waste their money) in Second life sim, when they are hardly getting by in their own real life.

Come on. Get over it.
Not everyone can afford to risk 300 us$ every month.

I am not get into this without consideration, and the principle is still the same.
The risk I am taking is purely in the range of my daily spendable income, and I have not cut back any of my existing investments savings, and other securities as I had them in place before.
My plan was to purchase the new private region from LL within 3-5 months. However, the deal I came across two days ago was hard to pass up, and fortunately for me, way below the price we could find currently on the market.

Since I have modest store profit and rental income to cover part of the risk, the actual cost of running/having a full sim, is even less than what I anticipated.

Mass Exodus of Japanese residents from SL

I cannot say that I am saddened to hear the mass Exodus of Japanese residents from SL. MagSL, Japanese company found exclusively for SL development purpose announced sale of their half of their regions.

The expectation of *fabulous internet community* was not what they thought it to be? I have not clue. They would probably blame it on slow localization by LL. Starting with Japanese client which every single menu is translated either wrongly or amateurishly. LL did not think they had to outsource the translation of *Help* *FAQ* *Edit* and resorted to use *babelfish* instead.
OMG. I am born and raised, fairly educated in first 31 years of my life.Addition to that, I used to work for computer company, translating English materials to Japanese.
I think I am fairly qualified to know computer menu are translated correctly.

And these SL japanese client, I have no fucking clue what the each of menu does. That is how bad they are.

No support for residents. (Oh I know they hired a couple of Japanese Linden. LOL They rejected me without testing my Japanese skills tho. They asked me how to find particle object. That was their concern for Japanese speaking LL liason? LOL)

The announcements of localization few days ago came too little too late.

In Japan, the pioneering company announced pulling out of the market, then guess what? EVERYONE COPIES!
You didn't know? Japanese people are like friggin lemming, marching themselves to wherever. LOL

So there comes all those pixel companies, trying to get rid of their pixel properties. Incapable of even running a basic English ad in classified, resorting to Japanese language forum outside SL. Their offering price is comparable to the price of Open space region, for a full fledged sim.

Funny thing is that, even among the classical musicians and afficionado, the original version is virtually unknown.

As the composer puts it, the song is "frivolous"... *laughs... but it is simple and passionate. The lieder(song) is rarely performed, but I think this recordings delivered the core of the composer's intentions.

Something I just can't have enough of it in my life... the dose of sweet baritone.

I am still plotting to see him somewhere in the future. Even though Valencia, Spain in Feb are just out of reach just because of few hours of time differences.

On the other hand, 12/14 Evening performance can be a possibility for me and my two young charges.
I am not sure if its a good thing to be taught at such a young age how to live excessively, or spend extravagantly just for the sake of one opeara (or one baritone)... Well. Yes. It is a good thing. The experience would last forever for them, a mere few grand for one weekend is a bargain, don't you agree?

Or since I already saw this production, save the money for awhile and wait for one of the performance in Europe?

Mattias Goerne, Thomas Hampson(America's leading baritone, he has Don Giovanni recording, also, has Met casting this season with La Flemming I believe.) Bryn Terfel has been my *Three Baritones/bass baritones* for more than ten years... (I'm not into tenors. I think its a matter of fetish.)

So, the discovery of Erwin Schrott is truely a special find for me.

Below is my dream sequence about Schrott's future...

His only recordings consists of opera arias, but I am hoping he will try his hand on German liders such as Schubert's song cycles... I really want to hear his *Die schöne Müllerin lieder *
This is written for tenor (or high voice) yet the story are about young men's life, mostly sung by men. Coincidentally, above baritone Goerne and Terfel also has recordings of selection from this song cycle. I think Schrott can deliver the subtlty of the Schubert as he is right now perfectly. Schrott is already familier with Romantic composer's works such as Berioz and Gounod, therefore it would not be a stretch for his style I suppose. (Do not get into the discussion/debate of why I think Schubert is a Romantic composer. I have my reasons.)

I am not able to think of great accompanist for his voice... hmmm that can be a quest, since I cannot name any concert pianists of this day who has Schubert as his/her repertoire. I am very picky about Schubert. Technically, not too challenging for any concert pianists, yet it forces one's artistic understandings of the comper and the art of its days. Schubert cannot be played just on the face of music book notes.

I guess Mitsuko Uchida, Emanuel Ax or Daniel Barenboim could be a fairly good choice. (According to his website, he will perform one of the opera under the batton of Barenboim in the near future. So it is not out of the blue combination.)

I don't know why but eveytime I encounter this opera, it reminds me of people who says the right thing but can't deliver anything substantial in reality.
I don't think he is dumb, half - witted nor plain as he looks, but it just look that way and everyone will overlook this person. Sadly, the servant/valet, Leporello sounds more witted and smarter and looks more attractive than Ottavio. *shrugs* That happens. lol

So I'm still mesmerized by his beautiful profile and his dangerously delicious smooth voice, I am now seriously considering flying to Spain for his Performance of Faust in Valencia, during the Presidents day weekend, just to see him.

As my friend Warspite joked, I am not sure how long I can support my jet-setting opera groupie ways without selling my Steinway B grand piano... which is probably worth about 60K $, considering all the work done to it.
(Not just for chasing Schrott, the year 2010,2011 will be bi-centennial cerebration of Chopin and Liszt's birth, which means that likely I will be wandering around Europe for those special commemorative events and concerts...)


I am not exactly poor, however, I am far from rich as to be able to come and go as I please, it takes some plannings smarts and wits.

But at the end, what it takes to make our life rich is not the amount of money we have.

My ability to appreciate arts (humanity, in reality) is a gift I was born with, and no one can take that away from me.

I may lose a limb one day and may not be able to play the piano, or violin in the future, but I would still be able to appreciate the beauty of it. There might be an unforeseen time of crisis that I never prepared for, and I may lose all my material comforts i enjoy.

Would that be the end of my life?
No.
My love for life is something beyond money and the material luxury.

Oh I have one, I just don't kiss and tell... except on few occasion that calls for special treatment.
Yesterday was one.

I would never imagined this when I met leyla about 2 years ago. It was even before the Transylvania, but I was trying to clean up the SL drama, and she came and listen to what I have to say. Since then, the trust between us developed and fastened.

I wanted to meet leyla and solis, both one of the best friends in SL, for leyla 's special , personal occasion. I chose Metropolitan Opera's production of Don Giovanni, and invited two gorgeous vampires into his reserved box, close to the stage. (We experienced a small set back on first half of the performance, but it was quickly remedied by house manager of Met opera, and we were invited to the 4th row from the stage.)


Oh the performance was breathtaking. Quite literally.

Divine Erwin Schrott ripped his shirt open and stripped off of it in first 5 minutes.
It was worth every penny-though it was pretty penny, the most memorable thing in my life for two points.
I was with two best friends I have never met till then.
They enjoyed the opera as much as I did, and I was able to give the great experience to them.
Chocolaty smooth, dangerously sweet Bass baritone should be shared...

After that, we went back to leyla's lair, I was still in endorphin high. You have heard the expression, it is better than sex. Well, Schrott's Don Giovanni was just that.
(It's been five days, its getting excruciating that ecstasy still tailing off but not really gone. I can see that how addiction starts.)

Lemme tell you.

leyla and solis are one of the most genuine ladies I have known. How the life can be turned colorful and meaningful by few good friends.

Many in SL knows me know that I do not cross the boundary between this life and the other. But this time, I had to make an exception, and it was the right choice.

I was one of those *cool kids who does not like Opera* even though I like the rest of the forms of classical music... What has changed ?

Opera is the closest things we can experience the good old days of Amadeus and Franz, mingling with Princesses and Emperors, dukes and countesses...
However until recent years, the classical music industry ignored to feast the eyes of the audiences and turned into snobbery on parade of flashing techniques without the lust for life.

And finally Opera got that part down.

Haven't been around much in SL

for purely personal reasons which I refrain from discussing in public.

Just let you know that its not like serious health or family reasons, however, it takes the priority higher than playing games.

I should be able to come in one to two days a week, but that would be the best I can for next few months. I continue to check my messages daily and conduct store related businesses.

I dont like to rent shopping mall

I receive a lot of notecard/ spams from random mall owners. I really want to report spam to LL but since those spam never follow up on the offer, so all I have to do is ignore and likely receive second spam from same business. (I doubt that any of them survived two months. )

However, I read the offer. Often generic and boring. It is unclear that who is the owner, why I would trust them enough to have business with them, etc etc. If it is a business, they should treat themselves as such. I check the sender's profile, and they are near blank or newly created avatar. I was not born yesterday.

Then, I have read mall owners on some forums that they dont have to cator to creators, nor worship those business owners who rent their space... because it is a business and they have to make money, too. LOL wow what a concept.
HOw ignorant and immature to the point of naivete. Yes it is a business, so you have to make an effort to negotiate and make a deal. If that is the *catoring* and against their business philosophy, then they are in the wrong business. LMAO ROFL.

We, as a business owners ask for free rent for few weeks, if we are not the one asking to rent. We ask for free prims, because we know how to negotiate. We ask for discounts, because that is how the business works. We compare the price with other mall and ask for price match. Of course, we do.
That is not asking for charity or favor. THAT IS THE POINT OF THE BUSINESS.
They do not have to take that personally. All you have to do is make a counter offer. If you think 4 weeks free rent is too much, then make a counter offer of 2 Free weeks. We may counter counter offer for 3. You may or may not want to do that, because having an empty mall does not create4 new traffic.

As a experienced shopper, I avoid shopping malls. If I do search for certain creator, and if that person has few location to choose from, I pick main store, which rarely located in shopping mall.

If my choice is limited to shopping mall and I can't find the store where I landed. Then... LISTEN to this... I will leave. YES. IF I see the tp machine where I landed. I will at least wait for it to rez, but that is all I would do.

So, other business owners. Check your rented location. Tp to the shopping mall you are rented. can you find your location where you landed? If the answer is No, you should stop rent that mall.

It has nothing to do with worshipping creators nor catoring store owners. It is about making your business worth to the shoppers and renters.
Simple is that.

Ppl who can't spell their own store...

Amateurish incompetent merchants and business owner in SL is plentiful. I understand that not everyone is coming from business background or had any experiences or even basic knowledge of marketing.

That is fine.
You study, learn gain experience, observe others... etc. There are a lot you can do.
But how much you do those things, sometimes lack of incompetence would hurt themselves from ground up.

For instance, *spelling*...

Let's get real here.
You put your store brand name in your profile or blog, but none of those brand name is spelled correctly.
(It is not the matter of proper naming/branding. I think... ) Choosing the words that misspelled frequently for your brand is not a good idea to start with, but that brand, if YOU can't even spell those not even once correctly... how do you expect your customer or potential client to find you?

I have seen profiles and advertisement after another, that the owner themselves can't spell their own business... Store signs says *Frederick's*, the profile says *Fredrick's* and your blog says *Frederic's* ... and the vendor box for one product says "Frederich's".
(The example are not real. To protect the person from shamed in public.)

It is cute when 5 year old kindergartener can't spell his own name on his home work.

Those prim body parts are not just for pixel sex with 12 options anymore. With this bondage HUD system, body parts are just a small percentage of the whole system. For that matter, we can totally ignore the sex part.
there are whole bunch of Tutorial video, but watch the one about *Positions*. This is a new function to control av position instinctively, which, up until now, only done by playing pose or animation.

With this system, you can put your own av or slave's av by controlling body parts from your HUD. Since the positioning are not scrolling through single poses, the combination could be over 20 thousand, according to tutorial. Virtually endless positions.
There are pre-loaded popular poses such as Nadu and Tower available of course, but the poses created by your imaginations can be stored as well. The days for searching and hunting for new slave poses are OVER!!!

Now, with this, even slave could crawl around without putting on crawl AO. All you have to do is go down to your hands and knees position, then move around... Voila! you are crawling to your Master/Mistress.

Slave HUD and professional Owner HUD each cost 500L. Well worth the price and then some.

I do text RP, but sometimes, confusion happens when you are explaining contorted body position of bondage play. And now, you can actually control your captive's body by restrain arm and legs and yank his head back, using HUD.

A day as SL mentor... in noob island

Since the day I was rezzed in world at Orientation island, the process for noobs has been changed few times.

Now All of the Orientation islands are gone, and converted into Help island.


I think its better this way. They don't need two different island for initial orientations.

Usually, I will be summoned as Japanese linguist to help them early in the morning. (Evening time for Japanese ppl.)
Japanese noobs are polite so they rarely gives us any grief. But sometimes, they are so afraid of asking questions or bothering mentors, they are in a hurry to walk away even though they didnt understand the answer I gave them. LOL

Many mentors takes personally when noobs do not respond to greetings, but they are simply not realizing that anyone would talk to you in the first place.

I remember the first day, it took some courage to say hi to those total pixel strangers wearing mentor tags. But they match me with resident who would help me get started with basics. I still in touch with the dude. :) Now we do not introduce noobs to experienced residents. I wonder why.

LL is wondering what they can do to retain new residents, and they can't seem to find the solutions. Introducing noobs to similar interested experienced residents can be a great way to promote retention I think, but well. You know how they are.

I dont know. If I'm motivated enough to help LL, I might make a suggestions.

Mozart digital music, critical notes...etc

I have been waiting for such sites for a long time, and this can be the best source for any classical musicians, students and scholars.

The source material is from Baerenreiter, which is well known for critical urtext editions in the world.

I, personally own couple of Baerenreiter urtext editions of several composers.
(Each composers have critical editions from different publishers, and for Baerenreiter's I choose them especially Franz Schubert's works. and I know when it comes to Mozart, this edition can be one of the best source available for scholastic purpose to this day.Each publisher has strength for certain composers or purpose. Some editions/publishers are known for inexpensive editions but no critical notes were included, and cannot be a good source for scholastic purpose. Some, known for the quality of the prints and integrity. So we choose the edition fit particular purpose.)

Of course, the ones you seriously performing those compositions or learning, has to purchase printed edition, it is unavoidable despite the expense. However, learning chamber music or parts you do not play and/or to learn orchestral pieces, or to learn critical notes not available from other editions, this digital editions can be *god's gift* to us, starving musicians.

Mozart's music is one of the gift of all humanity has to offer. And this digital edition enable access to his composition to everyone.

(I wonder if they have Bach compositions... I have to check their link, later.)

warm summer night

of funny turn of events, Fred encountered two women in one warm summer night. He knew one of them was a demoness.
I do not think it was punishment of any crime that he committed, although it resemble one. To Fred, I think, it was more like a sport of some kind. What do I know. He is just too twisted to be measured in an ordinary scale.

That took place in a open courtyard. The platform was built and the pole was installed at the center.

Some who watched from the side thought Fred was out of his mind, and understandably so. The demoness is known to thrive from fear and pain of their victims. And Fred did not know what she could do to him. It was a dangerous game, if he was thinking it was a game.

The lure of two beautiful women showering their attention solely on him so enticing? Probably.
In fact, the adoration poured onto him was more than enough to make him intoxicated from a surge of endorphin and other biochemicals... who needs pharmaceuticals anyways.

From false sense of security or lack thereof, he let one of the women blindfold him without any resistance, and he received few strikes across the cheek by both women, not long after his cheek started form bruises and welts he was brought to the center of the platform and his bound wrists hang awkwardly from the pole.

He did not know what to expect next. the scent of two women circling around, the sense of warm air stirred near his exposed flesh, a caress or a fast strike, either way he would suffer...

Last time, I got red dye, but it washes out in a week or so. Ashy dark brown with faded blond highlights.

The early memory probably I was 3 or 4 years old, and there are lots of children around me who cries to get out of everything. Because once the little child cries, all the adults think s/he needs to be protected and comforted, without investigating the cause.
And I hated that my friends just cries about everything and basically the fun stops there, because their parents take them away.

I was way above my age of understandings and logics of things, and at the same time I was not aware that all other kids do not develop as fast as I am. So, to me, I could not understand why these kids maybe sometimes year or two older than I am cries about something stupid.
Then, I started to dislike that behavior, because those children get out of everything by becoming victim of every fucking single circumstances.
Oh they didnt need to explain. Adults never expected them to, because they are only children.

When I was angry, I had strong reasons. I had a good logic to explain clearly my displeasure. I was able to explain what causes the chain of events and chain of action and reaction, and what displeased me in articulate words.(I am sure for a 4 year old..)

I hated those passive offensive people. They do not explain what was wrong, nor admit the wrongs they did. In stead , they just cried and becoming or play victims.

I had friends like that in elementary school, middle school, in highschool.

Was that only because the child didnt have maturity to cope?

I hoped so, but it was not.

There are people like that when I was 19, 23, 26,31 ....

I was busy yesterday, and by the 6pm, my brain was unable to process the info took in. I was staring at the TV channel 100(which shows 3 minutes loop previews of current movies over and over) for a while, not knowing what you were supposed to do. (Usually change the channel to whatever you want to watch.)

The similar symptoms continues while I'm online. I am reading article on some current topics on some news page, which I am sure, I meant to check on some particular article. Yet, I was just staring at the page presented and could not comprehend what it was said nor what I meant to do with that website.

I was able to get out from the bed around 7:25 am, but again, I sat on the couch for a few hours. "Oh. I know. I have to make some coffee... "

I made coffee, had about 3 cups... then I heard garbage track driving around.

She made these poses from scratch.

There are whole bunch of poses design to bound women, but rarely designed to fit male. It is not about equal opportunity. Simply, the thought of stronger male put female who are submissive to begin with, in binding, is simply becoming a turn off.

Suffering an eternal state of ennui, Akh and I decided to fiddles with poses and pictures.

We are VAIN. *laughs
Our conversations included but not limited to the books by Anne Rice and few others, aesthetics about most anything, and then to how some of our idle activity can be a source of income... In short, no purpose whatsoever.

I took more than one pictures, but I didn't have time for more than this tentative design above. By accident, I found the way to emulate back light and I am somewhat pleased with the results. Great looking pose, which we got lucky how flexi prim hair didn't cut in our body in unnatural way.

Tainted Blood and Potent Poison

After two days of intense creative process, (I wouldnt say work) I felt like go for hair shopping. Partly, to find new hair style that matches new hat that I just created.

After few store, I arrived at Gurl6. One of my regular stop. Despite the fact that this place carries million of chick's hair, I also find good long hair for my avatar.

So, I arrived at the entrance, waiting to rez as usual... which takes forever.

That is when I got hit with "This person wants to give you vampire bite, you will get free vampire bitemarks. click yes to accept." etc etc.
I was trying to find out if it was mistake or something I clicked, but I got hit by same offer in few seconds later.


Apparently, it was not a mistake, but some girl hitting me with vamp bite animation.

I was slightly annoyed but had witty comeback so I declined animation menu and hit her with IM.

"You would not know where I have been. You dont know how much my blood is tainted."
I guess that settled that. The girl didnt even respond and poofed.

So you would think, this is just rare occurrences. But NOoooo.

Not even a minute after, I got hit by exactly the same animation menu, only by different girl.
So this time I said it in public chat.

They should be embarrassed enough not to do that again in random public.

Jack of all trades...

Jack of all trades, Master of none... my graceful title since ... as far as I can remember... Some polite people graciously calls it *talent*, but this has been a most miserable lament of my whole life. *smirks
And as such, I will be reminded of it almost every instant of my daily life.

For instance...It was sunny Saturday afternoon.

Books are one of my fetish. Bookstores always has the lure of whorehouse on Friday nights.
I just go to book store and walk around, browse, and usually end up buying one. Rarely I walk out without buying one.

Yesterday, I was looking for particular genre of particular title. I could not find it but I found *how to* for fantasy illustration. There are more than handful of similar titles on the shelves, but this particular title goes from basic drawing technique, supplies, mediums to digital art, even how to get inspirations, to how to organize as a professional.
Each subject is not even enough to cover everything, but it is very efficient for me to have this book. Since it shows the order of how to organize your creativity.
I have fair amount of practical knowledges about art/drawing itself, therefore this book will assist me with application of mediums.


No. I am not going to be a professional illustrator. (Once i entertained that idea some 25 + years ago. Not my thing. It requires me to have total solitude and I would never be in that position. ) But, it will still gives me an outlet/medium, and have some joy out of it.

There was a time that I went thru 4-5 sketch books and produced nearly 100 completed works. (Yes, every two to three days. Some are done in a day in a matter of three hours.) And I was churning out mediocre stuff that I do not even want to draw.
And after few years, I think I ran out of any inspiration or drive to create. At least I had another outlet called music, which gives instant gratification much more than drawing. So drawing/painting were put back in the shelves.

---So, now you know why and where my *Jack of all trade, master of none* title come from. You just cannot be on top of everything at the same time and persevere. when you are taking on one, the rest would take back seat, and the perpetual cycle of * flavor of the month* ...

Anyways.

I guess I would at least try to put my digital art equipment to use. I will.

Anachronism of pixel life

As many of my friends already know, I have strong leaning towards anachronism in most aspects of life.

And more so in mind, comparing to the aesthetics.

One of the disappointment usually come from seemingly *period oriented community* of people, who has no knowledges nor understanding of period idealism, likely turned out to be just a geek who sit in front of computer, sometimes dressed like robot or sometimes dressed like Victorian gentile... nothing more than a Halloween costume party to them.

My internal anarchism does not conflict with my anachronism. After all, there were the times of revolutions and wars.
There were forward thinking people 200 years ago.
And then,there were libertines and atheists.

They are just a handful of honest people, who were labeled and branded as rebels by larger society who only follows whatever they society dictates.

To them, just to avoid conflict and conform to the society is not the purpose of their life.

Neither am I. I do not give a damn to be agreeable so I can be approved by undecided masses. I only tell the truth, whether if it hurt or not. The truth, has nothing to do with me. I cannot change it. It is as it is.

Disorganized organizers...

In the recent official Linden blog, SL5B (5th anniversary event) is extended and application of both exhibitors and staff volunteers.
Everett Linden also stated in bold letters that *multi lingual residents are highly sought*...

I checked the link to the wiki page for this event, yet there are no indication that what kind of *multi lingual positions* are sought.

I contacted Dusty Linden who is in charge of SL5B event inworld, and s/he only refer a name of another resident to me, without availability of specific positions.

---this is so called *run-around* that how the LL deal with anything, as anyone in this game in period of time...

Then, I contact resident organizer, and it seems that she has no clue about *multi lingual position was sought by LL... What she asked me was that "we need everything , from security to greeters to builders..."

Huh?

OK, the event will run in the matter of few weeks...

and the staff incharge do not even have notecard of available positions?

How do they communicate eachother?
How do they organize the application?
Who is in charge of staff communication?


....

I think it would be a waste of time.

I offer my help but they did not even ask me to send any note or any kind of application which listed my expertise/special skills... therefore, i would suspect that they would not be able to utilize any expertise that other residents offered, myself included...

I feel for all those volunteers. When the main organizer in charge do not even know what they need, only two weeks in prior to the opening of the event... the event would be disorganized and people will be frustrated and dissatisfied. They have to do extra work when they do not have time to take care or plan properly.

This is just *disaster* written all over it.

Gothic life and anachronism...

Since I have been away from pixel world for awhile, and feeling the dire need of analysis on virtual life and purpose (*laughs), I examined some of the aspects of it as a whole.

creative outlet: one of the main purpose on either side of the realm

Actually, many of the aspect can be just explained as a part of creative outlet.
*The utter refusal of the repetition of real life
-aesthetics (both in styles and philosophy)
-anachronism (classical, gothic, romantics etc)
-inspiration (occasionally, I meet interesting people. )
hmmm....

I was having a vague idea of forming my own realm. However, it will not be solely based on superficial social relationship (fake friends and fake families) nor based on business interests.

The core members consists of exceptionally talented content creators, the intelligentsia, and they will be all trusted by me on the base level. Since I am reluctant to shed too much money on this side of the realm, it may be small as it is now, unless my business would expand and have enough profit to support such household/court/kingdom /empire. It will not be some fake democratic paradise where everyone agrees with everything.

Any visitors would be welcome, however, not everyone would be accepted in my immediate circle. The maturity of each character will be scrutinized, as well as the individual talent and abilities.
If the individual demonstrates talents, loyalty and maturity, I would be offering as much support as I can. And moreover, they will be given an opportunity to hold their own household and expand, if they agree with same philosophy of the realm.

There are no points to collect. It depends on your own intellect.

And no, it is not fair, as any life.

Above was scribbled some days ago. (I do that a lot. Many simply will not make it to this blog because subject matter has nothing to do with pixel realm.)

Yet more random thoughts came up.

Pixel realm can be some fantasy outlet. Of course it is a part of creative process, however some of the anachronistic ideals that I described above, needs group/community of similar minded people. I am not talking about aesthetic point of view here.

There are so many period based sims around SL. Mostly building and RP/fashion oriented. yet, I hardly ever meet anyone who is even remotely knowledgeable with period society or classical/romantic/gothic, literary/artistic idealism.

One of my hero(happens to be real life historical figure from late 19th century), Kinmochi Saionji, prominent political figure of early modern Japanese government.
More like, he is one of the key figure of establishing modern Japan, after Tokugawa shogunate was relinquished.

He was born in prominent aristocratic family, which are traced all the way back to emperor and Fujiwara family who served emperors. Since young age, he served in emperors court(this, takes days to explain how or what it is, so I will not do this in here), then became governor of few key areas when he left positions as military officer when he was only 19.

Around this few years, he romantized being samurai, therefore he used simpler, ordinary sounding aliases to prevent others to see him as aristocratic blood. (Both of his last and first name has very distinctive royal ring to them)
He established private school inside Kyoto palace estate, which later became Ritsumeikan college. (This, was all accomplished in between age of 18-21)

after a few years, he moved to Paris, to get degrees in Sorbonne. Next decade or so, he studied and after a several years, he became official Japanese envoy to European courts and governments.

He never married mostly because the marriage would be dictated by aristocratic custom which has to be princess of prominent family, however he had numerous lovers and mistresses (social norm back in the day). There is a written report that one of the literal figure had the picture of him adorned her nightstand.

Japanese delegates to the Paris conference of 1919, proposed racial equality among the League of Nations (precursor to UN). It was voted in favor of the propse, however British and US delegates did not recognized stating that it has to be unanimous. Interestingly,this deepened conflict left unresolved between British/US and japan, resulted to WW2. Equality of the nations clause was included in UN pact after the WW2.

** Well. Not just Saionji, who built modern Japan, however, I am strongly identify his forward free thinking and his interest in learning the cultures outside of Japan. He was accused of Foreign sympathizer, however, that is wrong. He was clever enough to know how much catching up we (Japanese) needed, and almost singlehandedly establish the modern foreign policy. (He was also became prime minister several times.)
